Biohaven Floating Islands are made from recycled plastic which is spun into a “matrix” and bonded together with adhesive foam which is non-reactive with water and will not harm plants or livestock. Biohavens are planted with sod, garden or wetland plants and launched onto a waterbody, then anchored in the desired location. The plants are left to grow naturally, and as they develop, their roots grow through the matrix and into the water below the Biohaven floating island. Over time the natural eco-system will evolve and mature not only becoming strikingly beautiful but more importantly becoming a more effective biological filter the older the island grows.
